A fourth Prisma to be built in Riga, Latvia

SOK's Lithuanian subsidiary UAB Prisma LT opens its first Prisma hypermarket in Kaunas on Friday, 3 December. Kaunas is the second largest city in Lithuania, with a population of more than 350,000.

The Kaunas Prisma is located in the newly completed Banginis Retail Park, which houses ten speciality stores in addition to the Prisma store. The Prisma store has a store surface area of 8,600 square metres, and it has parking place for more than 600 customer cars.

"With the opening of the new Prisma store, the inhabitants of Kaunas have a more affordable place to shop, as Prisma offers its customers the cheapest shopping cart in the city. In addition, Prisma's competitive advantages include a quick and easy buying experience, good service, and a wide range of products," says Pekka Sääskilahti, Managing Director of UAB Prisma LT.

"Prisma Pramones employs over a hundred persons, and its selection includes more than 45,000 products in total," says Margus Musthallik , Manager of the Prisma store.
The premises of Prisma Pramones are owned by UAB SSPC-Pramone, who rents them to Prisma.

UAB Prisma LT is planning the opening of another Prisma store in Kaunas in 2012. In addition, several new stores are scheduled to be opened in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, within a year.

UAB Prisma LT started business operations in Lithuania in 2009, when Prisma Ozas was opened in Vilnius. In addition to Finland, the Prisma chain operates in the Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, and St. Petersburg markets.
