Delivery of M/S Baltic Queen

AS Tallink Grupp's subsidiary Tallink High Speed Line Ltd. today took delivery of the new cruise ferry Baltic Queen from STX Europe shipyard in Rauma, Finland.

The 212 metres long M/S Baltic Queen has capacity for 2800 passengers and 1130 lane metres car deck for the vehicles. On the board of the new cruise ferry are 927 cabins, 12 restaurants and bars, three shops and a conference centre for more than 450 people. A special area with a playroom is available for the kids.
The new ship has a speed of up to 24 knots.

The project of around EUR 180 million Euros was financed with a loan of EUR 144 from the Danske Bank A/S.

M/S Baltic Queen will start operations on 24.04.2009 between Tallinn and Stockholm where she will replace Tallink's first ordered cruise ferry M/S Romantika which will then be re-routed to Riga-Stockholm service. In means that the delivery of M/S Baltic Queen upgrades services on two routes.

M/S Baltic Queen is the seventh new delivery for AS Tallink Grupp in the last seven years.
