Third Prisma to Lithuania
SOK will open Lithuania’s third Prisma hypermarket in Kaunas. Prisma Pramones will be opened in the latter part of the year 2010.
The total area of the designed hypermarket is 11,000 square metres and it employs approximately 130 people. The value of the total investment is approximately 4 million euros. In the first phase, 600 parking spaces will be constructed and 600 more will be added later on. The developer of the place of business is Zabolis Partners.
There are densely populated residential areas in the immediate proximity of Prisma Pramones. Some 105,000 people live within two kilometres of the store, says Anu Huuska , the Managing Director of UAB Prisma LT.
The new Prisma is located in a traditional place of business, at the corner of two busy streets.
Kaunas is the second largest city in Lithuania and it is situated approximately 100 kilometres from Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.
Prisma will be opened in the latter part of the year 2010. Our aim is to achieve a strong position in the hypermarket trade and we will open 6 to 7 Prisma stores in Lithuania, of which 4 to 5 will be in the capital, Anu Huuska points out.
Permanently low prices, extensive product ranges and easy shopping are Prisma’s competitive advantages in the Lithuanian market area. The first Prisma will be opened in the Ozas shopping centre in Vilnius in the autumn of this year. The size of Prisma Ozas is 10,000 square metres. The second Prisma hypermarket of 11,000 square metres will be the anchor of the Olinda shopping centre and it will be opened in the beginning of the year 2011.
The Ozas construction site is very hectic and we are excitedly waiting to open the first Prisma in Lithuania in the autumn, says Anu Huuska.
