SRV builds International School to Latvia

SRV and The International School of Latvia have signed a contract concerning the construction of a new school building in Babite parish in close vicinity of Riga.

"The economic situation in Latvia is extremely difficult and construction market has virtually come to a standstill. Together with the International School of Latvia and Babite parish, SRV was able to find a solution, which benefits all parties", says Erkki Vallbacka, SRV's country manager of Latvia.

The planning phase of the project is under way and construction will start in August. The school will be handed over to the client in August 2010 before the fall semester starts.

The preliminary floor area of the project is around 5500 square meters. The school will be built on a 6.6 hectare lot, which has been rented from the Babite parish. In addition, a football field, two baskeball courts and four children's playgrounds will be built on the lot. At the same time, SRV will build a 750 square meter day-care center, which the parish will lease from ISL.
