Handelsbanken opens a branch office in Latvia

Handelsbanken has opened a new branch office in Riga, the capital of Latvia. This means that Handelsbanken now has operations in 22 countries around the world. No other Nordic bank has a larger international presence.

The Riga branch will be a full service branch for both private and corporate customers right from the start.

Branch manager Arto Haukka notes, "There has been a great deal of interest shown locally as well as from existing customers in our domestic markets."

The staff at the Riga branch reflect Handelsbanken's expanding international presence: "Latvian,

Russian, English, Swedish, Finnish and Norwegian are spoken fluently at the branch. I believe this is necessary as an increasing number of customers are becoming more international," adds Arto Haukka.
