New distribution centre and headquarters were opened for Onninen in St. Petersburg
Official opening ceremony of the new distribution centre and headquarters of Onninen Russia (Onninen OOO) takes place today in St. Petersburg. Distribution centre is serving regionally Northwest Federal District in Russia, which covers the area from south of St. Petersburg all the way to the North Sea.
Distribution centre is also serving Onninen's other Russian business places as it takes care of the customs clearance to Russia from the Western Europe. Headquarters serves as an administrative centre for whole Onninen Russia.
The capacity of the centre is 9000 pallets, meaning the selection of approximately 18 000 products from 200 suppliers. The facility can provide the delivery for the whole St. Petersburg city area within the next day after the order has been made. To the rest of the Russia the delivery times, due to the big size of the country, will be significantly longer. Time scale varies from 24 hours to Moscow until 5 days to Tjumen.
Onninen started business in Russia in 1994 and turnover last year was EUR 48,9 million. Onninen employs over 300 people at 13 different positions in Russia.
