Fazer buys the Russian catering company Abela Service CIS in St Petersburg
azer buys the Russian catering company Abela Service CIS in St Petersburg. Abela is a company with experience in staff restaurants within the private sector in St Petersburg. With this deal, in accordance with our strategy, we are launching our operations in the food service business in Russia, too.
Abela Service will become a wholly owned daughter company of Fazer Amica Russia, and it will later be merged with the mother company. Abela has 70 employees and among their customers are the Finnish owned Elcoteq and Nokian Renkaat.
The purchase of Abela Service is the first step in Fazer Amica's strategy to establish itself in Russia. Thanks to our bakery business, we have positive experiences in Russia and our aim is, to begin with, to offer high class food service primarily to international and Scandinavian companies operating in St Petersburg says Group President Berndt Brunow.
