Finland Post has concluded distance-selling logistics agreement in Latvia
Finland Post has concluded distance-selling logistics agreement in Latvia with four German mail-order companies Quelle, Neckermann, Otto and BonPrix. This extensive service package encompasses the traffic of mail-order catalogues, order coupons, freight, parcels and return items between businesses and consumers, involving millions of catalogues and hundreds of thousands of parcels and rolltainers. November saw the first contract-based deliveries carried out by Finland Post.
Finland Post collects goods arriving from across Europe from these mail-order companies Tallinn-based warehouses and delivers them to consumers in co-operation with its partner, Latvia Post. Deliveries to Latvia represent the first-ever flows of goods fully operated by Finland Post and not processed through its own production.
Finland Posts strengths during contract negotiations lay in its highly advanced IT solutions and its excellence in providing comprehensive service packages across national borders. Entry into new market areas, such as Russia, together with a single partner co-ordinating operations in several countries, worked out smoothly.
Providing comprehensive distance-selling solutions for the Nordic and Baltic markets, Finland Post has the capability to manage all or part of the elements involved in the distance-selling service chain: selecting a target group, supplying an address register, printing or printing out direct-mail materials, delivering direct mail, receiving orders, warehousing and delivering goods, and processing customer responses.
