Communication with SRS moves to the Internet
The State Revenue Service is constantly working on improving the tax-payment procedure and making it more convenient. It has introduced the electronic declaration of taxes, and 71 of the 117 declarations of SRS can now be sent in electronic form. However, the main documents concerning the yearly declaration of the main taxes, still have to be filled out in paper. In order to use the electronic declaration, the taxpayer has to apply for it in his local SRS department, where he receives user name and password. He can use them to access the SRS electronic declaration site where he can fill out the documents. The general director of SRS Dzintars Jakans believes this will make the work of both SRS and taxpayers considerably easier.
