Latvenergo to receive money
In Helsinki Latvenergo representatives signed a tentative agreement for receiving a syndicate guarantee worth of EUR 40 million with Nordea Bank Finland Plc, Bank Austria Creditanstalt AG, and Norddeutsche Landesbanka Luxembourg.

Taxes collection cuts records
In May 2003, the State Revenue Service has collected LVL 150.92 million, which is LVL 5.15 million more than it had intended, and LVL 12.15 million more than in the respective time period last year. The tax plan has been overachieved in every category of the taxes.

Analysts anticipate high increase of GDP of first quarter
The analysts are anticipating 6-7% increase of GDP in the first quarter of 2003. The Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia will provide the data about the GDP of the first quarter on June 10.

Ministry of Finance discovered activity
The Ministry of Finance informed that the economical activity has increased by 9.7% in April 2003, if compared to April last year. The increase was fostered by the growth of turnover in retail sales, the development of the manufacturing, and the growth in turnover of the hard currency. In March 2003, the index of the economical activity experienced an increase of 10.1%.

Will invest USD 330 million
The shipping company Latvijas Kugnieciba intends to invest more than USD 330 million in the restoration of the oil tankers' fleet within the next seven years by establishing a joint enterprise and gaining new partners. Latvijas Kuniecgba intends to own 50% in the newly established joint stock company, and it's representatives to be a majority.
