Estonia’s unemployment one of the lowest in EU
Unemployment rate in Estonia in November was 4.5%, which is one of the lowest rates in the EU. According to Eurostat, unemployment rate was the lowest in Denmark – 3.3% in October. Data of other countries is from November; in the Netherlands, the unemployment rate was 3.8% and 4.2% in Ireland. Estonia was on third place with 4.5%. Unemployment was highest in Poland, reaching 13.6%.

Last year, size of third pillar pension funds grew by EEK 311 million. There is now EEK 763 million in different funds of 30,000 third pillar accounts.

Turnover of Tallinna Külmhoone was EEK 388 million
Tallinna Külmhoone’s turnover was EEK 388 million last year, growing by EEK 31.2 million compared to 2005. Company’s yearly profit was EEK 8.6 million (in 2005 company had EEK 5.2 million loss).

Ülemiste Centre grew turnover 43% in a year
Ülemiste Centre’s turnover in 2006 reached EEK 1.5 billion, which is by 43% more than in previous year. Attendance of the centre grew 21%. Last year, Centre had 5.3 million visits and 5.5 million purchases; average purchase grew by 23% in a year, reaching EEK 281.

Tallinna Kaubamaja had record turnover
Tallinna Kaubamaja published last year’s turnover, which was EEK 4.3 billion. Turnover grew 49% compared to respective period in 2005.

Volume of BIG’s loans doubled
Volume of loans given out by BIG grew 113% in 2006, reaching EEK 969 million by the end of the year. BIG’s volume of balance for the first time surpassed the limit of EEK 1 billion, growing to EEK 1.2 billion by the end of the year.
