Industrial production grew 11% in a year
Production of Estonian industrial enterprises increased by 11% in May 2006 compared to respective period last year. Companies produced 3% more output in May than in April. Increase in industrial production was mostly due to increase in foodstuff production, woodwork and metal items production.
Sale of stores grew by a quarter
Sale of retail goods in stores grew by 22% in May compared to May 2005; sale of retail goods was EEK 3.8 billion in May. Increase in sale of retail goods was most influenced by sale of furnishings stores and grocery stores; 64% of purchases in May were made in these stores.
