Compared to July, the number of unemployed decreased by 2.4%. Compared to August 2002, the number of unemployed decreased by 8.6%.

Euro madness raised Hansapank stock over EEK 350
Yesterday, the price of Hansapank stock closed on a new record level EEK 351.27, which is 0.90% higher than the closing price on Monday. Turnover of the stock reached up to EEK 91 million. The price has increased primarily in the expectation of EU accession. Activity of foreign investors is high. Also local small investors are demonstrating higher interest.
Ekspress Grupp received EEK 15.9 million of profit in the first half-year
In the first half-year, Ekspress Grupp received EEK 15.9 million of consolidated net profit. Ajakirjade Kirjastus earned the greatest profit among the companies of Ekspress Grupp - EEK 14.0 million. Newspaper SL Õhtuleht earned EEK 9.8 million in six months. Weekly newspaper Eesti Ekspress earned EEK 8.4 million.

Export increased by 14% in July
In July, Estonia's export was 14% bigger than last year. Import increased by 17%. International sales amounted EEK 12.5 billion in July. Export formed 38% (EEK 4.7 billion) and import 62% (EEK 7.8 billion).
Baltic States European locomotive
Italian leading economics newspaper "Il sole 24 ore" positions Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in the head of European countries with most dynamics economies. The newspaper predicts continuous strong economic growth for the three Baltic States. Newspaper brings out four reasons for the growth: efforts made for EU accession, Russian factor (transit trade), tax system that favours entrepreneurship and concentration on single economic fields (transport, trade and IT).
