This research integrates experiences in conducting quantitative as well as qualitative organisation and management research in the East. The publication is divided into three main parts. The first section outlines general problems of conducting empirical research in transition economies.

The second part focuses on methodological issues concerning qualitative research. In the third part, the methodological concerns of the quantitative research are emphasised. The conclusion summarises the main aspects linked to implementing empirical organisation and management research in transition economies.
